Tarporley Rotary Club Twinning with Meinerzhagen

VISIT TO AMSTERDAMM

In May 2006, members of the Rotary Club of Tarporley and their partners made trip for the third 'midway' meeting with their twin German Club - Meinerzhagen in Holland.

There were lots of reunions

We all stayed at the Tulip Inn Amsterdamm Art.
Here are Liz, Sheila and 2 colourful cows outside.

Those with a leaning towards geography had a guided tour round the town.

We saw all sorts of transport, from horses

to bikes

to barges

and trams

In the evening we dined In der Waag which was quite flash.

Dinner

And some waiters seemed the same ones as last year

Liz and Dagmar looked radiant

Although our leaders seemed to have the blues

OUR carriage home

Apparently the President made a few visits on the way back to the hotel

A few felt quite rough the following morning!

On Saturday afternoon we barged into town

On Sunday morning we visited the Rijks Museum to view some masterpieces

Here's a coffee shop where we wanted to have a joint meeting

And finally we solved the mystery of what Tweetie Pie did with Sylvester.
Once again, it really was a superb weekend. The company was excellent, and our twin relationship was further cemented! We are now all looking forward to meeting again in Tarporley in 2007.
