COTEBROOK RIDE

Roads.   Woods.  Fields.
The Rotary Club of Tarporley are busy preparing for the big 2010 event on SUNDAY 12th September at UTKINTON LODGE FARM.
The ever popular Sunday Donation Horse Ride is back again this year. Remember the new park and start location!
All proceeds are shared between Tarporley War Memorial Hospital, St. Luke's Hospice (Winsford), The Clwyd Special Riding Centre, and other charites supported by The Rotary Club of Tarporley.

THE COURSE is approximately 10 miles long, in a delightful part of Cheshire, with options for short-cuts, passing through Primrose Woods and over open fields rarely available to horse riders. There are also some country road sections. The route undulates with ample opportunity to exercise your horse, while enjoying magnificent views of the Cheshire plain. ALL jumps are optional, as is jumping them twice of more if you wish (providing you don't interfere with other riders' enjoyment of the course!)

LOCATION:
The start and finish points are at Utkinton Lodge Farm, Utkinton Lane, Cotebrook, CW6 0JH nr Tarporley. (OS Map 117 ref SJ568654). Reached from the A49 between Tarporley and Warrington, turning off to the West where signed in Cotebrook, 2 miles north of Tarporley.

WHY DO IT?
  • Each Rider will receive a free rosette and drink on completion.
  • Many people enjoy it so much they come back year after year.
  • It's good for you, it's good for your horse AND it raises money for charity.
  • We hope to be selling burgers etc on the field so you can get a cheap day out with lunch!
  • We will again have an action equestrian photographer on the course, so you will be able to buy a photograph of you and your horse at one of the jumps.
  • You get to ride on fields, in woods, on paths and roads.
We are very grateful for the support of Forest Enterprise England, Mr Robert Heath, Mr & Mrs Alan Heath, Mr & Mrs John Swindells, Mr & Mrs Richard Heath and Mr Derek Davies all of whom have given their consent for the Ride to pass over their land.
