On Saturday 22nd April, 2000 we published an 80 page book of photographs, mainly of Tarporley with some of the surrounding district, showing how it used to be, alongside views of how it is today. The intention was to produce an affordable record of our changing district that everyone will want to own, either as a souvenir or to send to their relatives and emigrated families & friends.

The book includes pictures of street views, individual houses and buildings as well as some of events, clubs, schools and other organisations or groups.

We know there have been books about Tarporley's history before, and so do not intend to repeat that. This very specifically concentrates on visual aspects of then and now. We've got pictures back to 1864.
(There may be a follow-up some time, so if you've got any pictures that you think haven't been seen in public before, do contact us. E-mailed pictures are welcomed.

We are offering copies for sale at many of the 'tourist' outlets in the area such as pubs, restaurants & shops. The price is £6.50 per copy.
